Kenya Shoe Drive
 
I am trying to put together a shipment of shoes to the orphanage in Kenya
where I spent three weeks last summer (they really do run barefoot or in
flip flops)  I am hoping to get a pair that fits for each kid.  They get
SOOO excited when they get things that actually fit them.  I am attaching
a chart of the sizes I need.  The cost to ship to Kenya is astronomical so
I am not planning to send a million shoes-- just the ones I need (plus a
few extras so that kids have a few choices).  I am looking for used shoes
(believe me- our idea of used is brand new in Kenya)  Contact me at
  doriwhitford26@gmail.com to make arrangements for me to get them.  Or you can bring them to the annual dinner or any of the club meetings.  I am
especially having a tough time rounding up the kids' sizes so talk to your
grand kids or friends who have young children!

Update Spokane to Kenya Shoe Drive:

I have received lots of shoes! Thank you! We do, however, still need some sizes. The kids sizes seem to be particularly difficult to come by.
I will take any kids sizes -- even if they aren't listed as a current need on the list below. I will just send them on knowing that they will be put to use in the near future.

If you are downtown and would like to leave them at the Bloomsday office (1610 W Riverside) that would be great. They are open 9-5. Or if you are north side, I work at Mead High School. If you leave them at the front officce for Dori they will get them to me. (Mead office is open 7-3) Or you can email me at  doriwhitford26@gmail.com  if these don't work. We can try to work something out.
