Lynne and her family moved to Oakland, California where she met and married the love of her Life, Dr. John Bownds. Together they had three children, Jennie, Layne and Gabe. Lynne and her family moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1969. While living in Tucson, she received her nursing degree and worked for the University of Arizona's Student Health Center. Lynne continued her education at The University of Tennessee and received her Bachelors, Masters and a PHD in healthcare economics. In September 1999 she accepted a position at Eastern Washington University in Spokane, Washington, as an economics professor. Upon arriving in Spokane, she also took up running which became one of her greatest passions.
