Peter Hawkins
Author of upcoming novel, Varsity Seven : An American Rift Valley
Varsity Seven is the story of a community and family rich in running tradition.
From 1993-2011 Ferris had 7 siblings compete: Isaac, Emily, Ben, Liz, Peter, Paul Jr. and Tom.
GSL is about coaches, athletes and family.
Publication Date: May 5 2018 (Available at the Bloomsday Trade Show)
Peter describes his new book:
January 1947 – Present (71 years 2 months) Spokane, Washington Area
I am the author of Varsity Seven, the true story of a community and family rich in running tradition. What football is to the south, distance running is to the northwest. Not one, but two of the nations first premier high school distance stars came from the same city and rivaling high schools. Since that time Spokane, Washington has been compared to the Rift Valley of Kenya which has consistently poured out supreme talent amongst sparse numbers. Varsity Seven looks into the coaches, volunteers, and families that make Spokane's running scene so unique.
